Baseball & Softball SEASON UPDATE

Dear Biddeford Little League Baseball and Softball Community,

Thank you for your patience with us during these unprecedented times. Both boards met late last week for a final determination on our seasons based on recommendations from various sources including Little League International, the Maine CDC, and the governor. The following decisions have been made:

*All T-Ball and Coach Pitch Division Baseball will still have a season! At this time, we feel confident in a season starting in July and extending into August. Please be on the lookout for more specific information coming soon!

*Challenger Division, Minors (Kid Pitch) 8-10 year old, and Majors 10-12 year old 10-12 year old divisions for both Baseball and Softball are regrettably cancelled for 2020. Both boards feel that extending the season into these months pose myriad issues that stack up against holding a later start season. We will automatically roll over your registration from the 2020 season into the 2021 season. We sincerely hope that you will still join us for pick up games announced through our Facebook page once the regulations and crowd gathering restrictions are lifted, and hope you consider registering for Kids Travel Baseball, or Fall ball leagues as well. Should you be interested in registering for any fall ball opportunities, your registration costs can be deducted from the credit posted to your account.

*Players who fall into the 12 year old category where this would have been your final Little League season, you are most in our thoughts. You have been denied your final chance to play the game in Little League that you love so much, a game that has helped you grow more than just athletically. We would still like to honor and recognize you as would be tradition during our end of season rituals. Families of players who fall into this category, please be on the lookout for an email from us with details and further information.

*If you are interested in donating your league fees to Biddeford Little League instead of a credit for 2021, please email [email protected] with “Donate” in the subject line.

Batting Cages are up and can be used when following state and local guidelines.

We appreciate your understanding during these very difficult times. We want nothing more than to see the ball fields packed with kids, coaches, and spectators.
